HOW MUCH CAN YOU CLAIM?
Everybody is different. How much you can claim depends on which health fund you are with, your level of cover, waiting periods and prior claims. You can speak with your health fund or pop into store and we can help you figure it out. Simply bring your health insurance membership card into your nearest OPSM store and our friendly experts will be able to help.

WHAT CAN YOU CLAIM WITH OPTICAL EXTRAS?
Your health care optical extras benefits can be used for glasses, contact lenses and even prescription sunglasses. Up to 85% of our sunglasses at OPSM can be fitted with prescription lenses. Our friendly experts in store can help you work out the best way to spend your Optical Benefit to maximise value and suit your lifestyle.
WHEN DO MY HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS RENEW?
You can claim your health insurance optical extras benefits at any time of the year, however it is important to note that most health funds don’t roll over any unused benefits when your benefits renew. Most health funds renew their optical extras benefits each calendar year, some renew based on the financial year and other are based on the date you join the health fund. Ask your health fund to find out when your benefits renew.

WHEN WAS YOUR LAST EYE TEST?
It’s a good idea to check your prescription before you get a new pair of glasses or contact lenses. Eye tests are covered by Medicare for eligible Medicare cardholders and services and you should have your eyes tested at least every two years (or once a year if you are over 40). OPSM recommends that you schedule regular visits with your optometrist based on your eye health needs. HOW TO CLAIM YOUR BENEFIT ONLINE.
You can claim your benefits with your health fund for contact lens orders made online. Once your order has been processed, you will receive an itemised tax invoice including our provide number, item codes and costs. Simply present this tax invoice when you lodge a claim with your health fund to receive your rebate. You can shop our range of contact lenses online.
